Western Digital has just announced the highest capacity 2.5 inch hard drive in the world – 1 Tera Byte. The 1TB 2.5″ Scorpio Blue Hard Drive is ideal for notebook computers and small 2.5″ caddies.

Western Digital has also released a 750GB version of the Scorpio Blue drive. Both the 1TB and 750GB WD Scorpio Blue hard drives are the non-standard 12.5mm height, as opposed to the standard 9.5mm height – so there may be some problems fitting this into most laptops.

The RSP for the 1TB is $249.99 USD (~£150); the 750GB is $189.99 USD (£115). The hard drives also feature in the new My Passport Essential SE USB drives. The drives feature a 3-year limited warranty too.
